THESE EXHIBITS INCLUDE ALL COMMUNITY, GROUP, CLUB, ORGANIZATION, FARM DISPLAY, AND INDIVIDUAL DISPLAYS WHICH ARE THE PRODUCTS OF COMPETITORS WHO ARE NONCOMMERCIAL OR NONGOVERNMENTAL IN IDENTITY OR FINANCING. 1. Each exhibit must be credible, must utilize the space provided, and must be found worthy of the ribbon offered. An exhibit can win more than one award and premium. 2. Each exhibitor will be held responsible for the cleanliness of the exhibit, which must present a clean and neat appearance at all times to be eligible for ribbons. 3. Each exhibitor must place a sign identifying the exhibit and the exhibitor. 4. Entry Forms should be submitted as soon as possible. The deadline for submitting an entry form is one week before the Fair’s opening day. All exhibitors who do not submit an entry form as specified may be allowed to display their exhibits only if space is available, but they will not be judged nor eligible for any award. All exhibits in this division must follow the size limits of frontage: 8 Feet, depth: 8 Feet, back height: 6 Feet, side height: 4 Feet. (Oversized exhibits will be penalized during judging. Anyone wishing to exceed the space limits should enter the SPIRIT category to avoid a size penalty.) 6. All exhibits must have been constructed/designed since the last fair. Anyone utilizing materials from a previous year's exhibit must make obvious changes in the theme, content, or design. SCORE FOR JUDGING: Appearance 35 points possible The general appearance of the exhibit, which must be changed each year, should be clean, neat and uncluttered, EYE-CATCHING, and have balance and harmony. Original, individual and creative ideas and concepts should be carried throughout the exhibit. Artistic Qualities 15 points possible Is there a good choice of colors and decorations? Is there a good choice of lettering as far as size and type used? Are posters and lettering easy to read? Consider quality of workmanship, continuity, purpose or use, practicality, appropriateness, and cost vs. value of finished exhibit. Is the ATTENTION GETTER used effectively? (Such as motion, light design, figures, color and special features.) Most Effective Use of Explanatory Materials 20 points possible Does the exhibit tell a story? Does the arrangement of materials allow logical sequence of thought? Does the exhibit give the viewer a better understanding of the appreciation of the resources or services of a community, county or organization, or of a particular agricultural or industrial enterprise of the County/Community? Exhibitors should strive to use their materials so that the exhibit will be educational, neat, clean, eye-catching, and easy for the viewer to understand. Theme/Educational Value 30 points possible The exhibit should contain certain facts and information that will quickly and clearly present an educational picture of Santa Rosa County-past, present or future.
